New post on Paramore.net about PFC

Paramore posted on their website that they have decided they are no longer going to have a paid fan club, that means Paramore Fan Club (PFC) is gone, now you can become a member just by registering on paramore.net, read the full post below:

Earlier this year we let you know that we were making some changes to our website and announced that we wanted to offer a different experience to our fans. Hopefully you all are loving the new layout of the website and how mobile friendly it is.

Today we would like to let you know that we are no longer going to have a paid fan club like we did with the Paramore Fan Club. We feel like it limited many of you who still wanted access to the content, community, meet n greets and pre-sale tickets but who were not members of PFC.

We want to open up these opportunities to more fans so starting today, all you need to do is make sure you’re a member of Paramore.net!

As an official member of Paramore.net, you will get the chance to participate in special presales, early entry to venues, meet n greets, limited merch items and new content. So make sure you sign up no matter what part of the world you live in.

We really want to give as many of you as possible a chance to enjoy these perks and we want to say a special thank you to all the PFC members who joined throughout the years.

We just announced more dates in September and we are going to give all Paramore.net members the first chance to buy tickets early starting tomorrow.

We will also offer some new ticketing options to help get tickets in your hands and not the ticket brokers. We saw way too many of you complaining about this when our last dates went on sale and we are doing our best to minimize that. So in response to that, you will see us implement paperless ticketing, special pricing and limited bundles for certain seats as we try to keep ticket prices lower but secure for you to purchase. More about this in the coming days when we roll out our official Paramore ticketing policy.

So please make sure you’re on the email list and watch out for more info on our special presales we are doing for all our tours moving forward. This will give many more the option to get tickets before they sell out.

Thank you,
Hayley, Jeremy & Taylor / Paramore

New message from Hayley Williams on Paramore's Livejournal

Hayley Williams wrote a new post on Paramore's livejournal, she explains why Paramore's show for tonight was cancelled and also she apologizes, we knew that she hasn't been fine, because she said she was sick, in the post she explains that the problems started because of a food poisoning, sore throat and now she got a virus. We really hope she get well soon! Read the message

Hey everybody,

First of all... Salt Lake City, I am so sorry that we had to cancel our show. There aren't many things I regret more than letting our fans down. Canceling shows is a big deal to all of us and I tried so hard just to push through them but unfortunately that wasn't the smartest idea for my health. Canceling was the last resort and again I'm sorry it came down to that.

Maybe I can just quickly try explain what's going

on, so you hear it straight from me. This started last week when we were meant to play Conan... And I woke up feeling really sick. I thought it was just a sore throat but didn't want to risk not being well for our own shows, so we cancelled. I stayed in and got some food and of course, caught food poisoning from it... Because, why not? Not to get all graphic on you but it was a lot like that scene in The Exorcist where she projectile pukes green and it's really violent. That ended up burning my throat which made it sore all over again. Then to make matters worse I woke up a couple of days later having gotten some sort of virus, which is what I'm still dealing with now.

And there you have it. Clearly, it has not been my week. I wish that my being sick didn't affect so many people and again, I am terribly sorry to everyone who I have let down by not being able to perform tonight.

Thanks to everyone who's sent me a get well soon message or any kind of support over the last week. So thankful that music has connected us.

See you all soon.
Hayley

New Paramore photoshoot for LadyGunn Magazine

Paramore was interviewed by LadyGunn, we'll post the video, and it seems they had a chance to do a new photoshoot. LadyGunn revealed on their webpage all the photos taken Andrew Kuykendall and also published an article, written by Heather Seidler, here are the photos, the interview and the article:

Click on the photos to go to our gallery:

The rebooted Paramore is back, bigger and better than ever. Their newly released, self titled album, their fourth, debuted strong at #1 on the Billboard charts, and Paramore 2.0 is vindicated and back on top. Since the departure of founding members Josh and Zac Farro three years ago, the band has reinvented itself. The trio of Hayley Williams, Jeremy Davis and Taylor York has proved triumphant after some fractured circumstances.

“Obviously I don’t want to talk sass about the old band, but the place that we’re in now, as three individual people, is a very healthy unit,” Williams says. “It’s really bizarre, we grew up together, but now we have a second chance to do what we’ve always wanted to do. There’s a lot of excitement in what we’re doing right now, and I just feel blessed. I feel really psyched and grateful.”

Since their first release, Paramore has grown from emo mall-punkers to stadium-filling, mega-pop-rockers. After the split, the bitter Farro brothers publicly insinuated that Paramore was just a manufactured product of major label puppetry—but Hayley and crew proved otherwise by releasing the new, 17-track album that veers from their trademark punk-rock sound into an ambitiously personal and brightly tender record that fuses multiple musical stylings.
The Nashville-based band moved to Los Angeles to begin work on the album and that decision shaped the direction the album took. “I think LA played a huge part in rounding out the sound of the album and giving us a fresh perspective,” Williams says. “I know for me personally, I had to get out of Nashville because I really felt suffocated there, which is crazy because I grew up there and was impossibly in love with my hometown. My whole family is there, along with all my close friends from high school, but all the craziness that we were going through as a band–all the rumors and things flying around–I felt I couldn’t really walk down my own street without people looking at me. I just needed to get away. LA was a nice vacation from our reality at home and forced all three of us to grow up. We really felt like we were adults for the first time ever.”

With the help of M83′s producer Justin Meldal-Johnsen, Paramore became increasingly confident in themselves and the direction of their sound. “We were big fans of his and the minute we met him, it was like we had known him forever. We just sat down together and talked about all the bands we loved and the music we wanted to create and the reasons why we want to create it. He told us he didn’t want to be involved with any band unless he could be 100% emotionally invested. We felt that he was going to stretch us and he wanted to get his hands dirty—and he did! It was one of the best decisions we made, it was sort of like having an extra member for the band. It felt perfect,” Williams says.

After down-sizing and linking up with a new producer, the band felt an excitement and commitment they had never experienced. “Each one of us is so happy to be where we are – we worked our asses off for this album and I think we played even harder. It was an amazing time for everyone involved in the record. Everything was fun and exciting every morning, and I don’t think we would have gotten that if it was the five of us.”

There was an adjustment period before writing the album when Williams experienced a dry spell of creative congestion, after having gone through all the changes in the band and their environment. “We kind of had to let things happen, we had to let things go,” Williams explains. “We figured out what the right things were for our album and it turned out they couldn’t have been more wrong. So we really had to follow our inspirations and let our influences speak to us without being blinded. There were moments when I felt like I’d never write a song again, but then I’d hit a prolific period. It was quite interesting because each time we’d have these explosions of inspiration, we had to break down walls and it was an amazing time of accelerated discovery and realizing what we were capable of. Every time we think too much, we got all blocked up. Every time we just let a song happen, it took us to a place we never thought we could go as a band.”

After riding the emo wave under different variations of Paramore since 2005, the 24-year-old Williams had thoughts of walking away before this latest album came to fruition. But she knew Paramore wasn’t destined for a premature end and, luckily, Paramore plowed onwards. “There was a time both in our professional lives and individual lives where we could have just thrown in the towel and gotten day jobs anywhere. We could’ve said, ‘You know what, it was awesome being in Paramore and it was fun to play music all over the world, but that time is over and now it’s time to find another purpose.’ We could have just done that, because pretty early on in the process it felt like that was the right choice–to call it because someone else called it for us. But now I’m sitting here talking to someone about our new album. I feel like so much blood, sweat, and tears went into every song–it was emotional, it was exciting and it was sort of like this golden moment, a flash in my life I know I’ll never forget. It feels like the end of a crazy war movie and we’re walking out with our hand in the air. I’m truly in awe of the things we’ve gone through the last few years,. Even if we just released the record and it did nothing at all, even if no one wanted to talk to us about the record and you and I weren’t doing this interview right now, it is a victory for us.”
After the Farro brothers’ split from the band, cracking the fault-line of the outfit, it seems like the band has a brand new, more workable relationship with each other and their enthusiasm is manifested on the album. Even though the split still seems a bit raw (Williams hasn’t spoken to the Farro brothers since they aired their disapproving dirty laundry across the blogosphere), it’s now just water under the proverbial pop-rock bridge. Williams holds no grudges. Things have moved on.

“One thing for sure is that I learned it’s okay to be wrong, it’s okay to say that something hurts and be really honest about it,” Willliams admits. “I always talked about the importance of honesty in songwriting, and I think I’m actually a stronger person when I write songs than I actually am in my personal life. I really tried over the last year to just be okay with something that hurts and be honest about it. If something’s wrong, be honest about it and take all of that feeling and use it to make you a better person. I was going through a lot, even in the first album. When I wrote ‘Brand New Eyes’ I was so hurt and really angry, so my way of letting it out was through song. I didn’t want to write that album two times, so I took to focusing on the source of the problem to fix it. The way we wrote this album is different. In my personal life, I’ve forgiven and let go of resentments. I’m taking a step each day to be a better person. Trying to practice forgiveness and grace and open mindedness–just patience even. If you’re struggling with it, it means you’re trying.”

Az Central interviews Taylor York

Yesterday (April 29th) Paramore played at Comerica Theatre in Phoenix, AZ. Ed Masley, local newspaper correspondent called AZ Central, had the chance to interview Paramore's guitarist Taylor York, they talked about Paramore's new album, Farro Brothers and also about his friendship with Jeremy Davis and Hayley Williams. Taylor said this about Paramore "I think most bands, you kind of create teams. And when the two brothers left, those divides left with them and we became truly best friends."
Here is the full interview, read it below:

Question: One of the cooler things about this album is how stylistically diverse it is. Was that intentional or is that just the way the songs turned out?

Answer: It’s honestly just the way the songs turned out. On our last three full-lengths, we had evolved, but they were also stylistically similar. So we felt like we’ve kind of developed a fan base through that style and we thought, “Well, all right, let’s keep it going.”

But I think when we went down that path, we realized that that’s just not where we’re at anymore. I mean, we’re so proud of everything we’ve done but we’ve already made three records of that. We tried and tried to write those kind of songs, but then we wrote a song called “Ain’t It Fun” that for us was just so left-field. It was like, “What are we doing? What is this?”

But that’s what we were passionate about and excited about. And I think at that point, we were less concerned about a direction and more concerned about just good art and making something we believed in. And it kind of seemed like every song was turning out very different, but somehow, it all came together in the end.

Q: You mentioned not wanting to make another variation on the first three albums, but wasn’t it going to be different anyway after the lineup change?

A: Yeah, absolutely. That’s something we learned. Logistically, obviously, things don’t work the same. But I think we definitely wanted to try. We felt this responsibility to at least go for it.

Q: You obviously had to step forward a bit as a writer on this album. What was that experience like for you?

A: Uh. It was terrifying, man. Yeah. I had kind of sunken into a really comfortable role in the band in prior years. I just played rhythm guitar. That was pretty much all I did. And I loved it. So the idea of having to write for a record totally terrified me. But I think in a way, that was a good thing.

At this point, I haven’t really developed any patterns. I don’t have too many boxes as of yet. So that was an advantage where I wasn’t kind of going to a default in my head. But it was so exciting and such an honor to get to write with Hayley. We’ve written a little in the past but not to this extent. So it was one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done but also at the same time, so rewarding. And I’m really proud of it.

Q: Could you talk about why you decided to call the album “Paramore?”

A: Putting a word or a few words on a full body of art is really difficult, trying to somehow sum up all of these different things into one thought. So every time we go in to name an album, it’s really overwhelming and scary, and everyone’s embarrassed to throw out ideas.

But when it came to that time, Hayley was like, “It’s probably time to talk about naming the album, but before we get into this, I just had this weird idea. After all we’ve been through, it kind of seems we’ve discovered a new Paramore and I feel like this might be the time to do a self-titled.” And it just immediately felt so right. This is kind of like a new band. And we’re so proud of it. This is how we want to move forward in showing who Paramore is.

Q: Hayley has said that going into this album, she felt more optimistic than ever about the future of the band. Is that because the energy is more positive since the departure of the Farro brothers?

A: Yeah, I think that’s a big part of it. We all didn’t want to be here when the other two guys were in the band. It’s hard to all get on the same page when obviously you’re just not. It causes a lot of division, and it’s really difficult. So I think for the first time, we all really want to be here, and we want to communicate and work through things together. And we all actually like each other and enjoy each other.

We’re at a place now where even if this record doesn’t do as well as we would hope, we’re gonna have more fun being a band and touring together and writing songs and making records than we ever have before. We’re all just happy to be here.

Q: What was your initial reaction when you heard those guys were leaving?

A: They came to me actually before anyone. It’s one those things where we were at a point where something had to give. It was such an unhealthy environment. Something had to happen, but I think we all refused to give it that much thought. It was a surprise to all of us, but at the same time it was like, “Duh.” This was a long time coming. It was definitely scary. I was thinking, “I don’t know. Is this thing over?” But I felt like it just wasn’t. There was a lot of fear, but there was this weird peace and this weird confidence. So we tried not to give those doubts the forefront of our attention. We just focused on moving forward.

Q: Do you feel like it brought the three of you closer together?

A: Oh yeah. Absolutely. I mean, we had to communicate. I think most bands, you kind of create teams. And when the two brothers left, those divides left with them and we became truly best friends.

Q: Are there songs that feel different now or songs that you threw out and just don’t do anymore?

A: Thankfully, everything is still pretty natural. It’s a little bit different, but everyone on stage loves being there and loves playing music together. We love our old music and we don’t feel like we’re ever gonna remove ourselves from that. The old songs are, honestly, probably more fun to play live than ever.
